Gainesville Women for Equal Rights Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsberg Print on Organic Sateen with With Foldover Elastic for Ears
RGB! The Hippodrome stitchers made this special mask to honor the life and service of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The material is a nice quality organic 100% cotton sateen. It comes with a filter of Halyard H600, which can be removed when washing the mask in the included mesh bag, and decontaminated in the hot sun or a very low temperature oven (165 degrees F). It has a flat, bendable nose bridge to be shaped for a good seal and comfort.
This mask is named for Gainesville Women for Equal Rights, a biracial group of women that formed in 1963 to advocate for integration in Gainesville. The Gainesville Iguana did a wonderful interview here, recognizing the work of Jean and David Chalmers, Cora Roberson, Vivian Filer, Jane Hiers and many others.
These women (and men!) were Gainesville's heroes who stood up to segregation and said "I Dissent." Thank you to all of them, and to RGB!
